Race Types Overview
Different race formats in Roach Racing Club

Roach Racing Club features two main race types: Arcade Races and Pro Races. Each offers a different experience and reward structure, catering to both casual players and competitive racers.

Boost System
How to boost your roach during races

The Boost system is a key mechanic that allows players to influence their roach's performance by predicting asset price movements.

How Boost Works

  • Players see a real-time chart of their roach's cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, XRP, etc.)
  • Players can predict the price movement by pressing UP or DOWN (opening a position)
  • While in a position, players accumulate Boost based on price movements
  • For each fraction of price change, players get 1x to their boost
  • If the prediction is correct, the boost is positive; otherwise, it's negative
  • Players can close their position at any time before the round ends
  • If the boost is positive when closing, the roach accelerates for a few seconds
  • If the boost is negative when closing, the roach slows down

Strategic Dilemma

Being in an open position with negative boost slows down the roach, creating a strategic dilemma: close now and get an even bigger slowdown but then re-enter the trade, or endure and hope for a change in the asset's price movement.

Boost Mechanics

The boost system is designed to reward skilled traders who can accurately predict price movements. The longer you hold a correct position, the more boost you accumulate. However, holding too long risks the market turning against you.

Positive Boost

When your prediction is correct (price goes UP when you pressed UP, or DOWN when you pressed DOWN), your boost accumulates in the positive direction. Closing a position with positive boost gives your roach a speed boost proportional to the accumulated boost value.

Negative Boost

When your prediction is wrong (price goes DOWN when you pressed UP, or UP when you pressed DOWN), your boost accumulates in the negative direction. Closing a position with negative boost slows down your roach proportionally to the negative boost value.
